Experienced Operations Consultants
You are an experienced internal consultant and operations specialist looking for a long term career move. It is likely that you have progressed within a change and business improvement function within a large organisation and are now looking to break out into a professional consulting career.
You have great general consulting experience but your real capability is in operations: leading transformational change in operations areas; driving customer service effectiveness; applying common sense and making change stick.
You have been successful to date in your consulting career but you seek a new role where you will be truly valued and able to fulfil your consulting ambitions. OEE has just such a role. OEE is a medium sized consulting firm currently operating with around 150 staff and growing, competing directly with the larger consultancies right across the UK service sector, with a strong focus on financial services.
We are different to other consulting firms: the business is non-hierarchical, supportive, non-corporate, and you will be treated as a professional whilst working alongside like-minded and able colleagues. You will be trusted to do the right thing by our clients and given the flexibility to manage your own schedule to achieve this. The work we do is interesting, challenging and wide-ranging in nature, and so is our client base. Equally you won’t be constrained to one sector or service line.
Home location is not an issue: we don’t mind where you live (UK only) but as in any consulting role you can expect lots of travel and time spent away from home, however when not engaged on a client site you will work from home if you wish to.
We receive lots of applications so please tell us in your covering note why we should take notice of yours: what have you learnt from your successes to date and equally so from the mistakes that you have made?
Desired Skills and Experience
You are intelligent, clear thinking, with a strong personality: people listen to you.
You have a good understanding of operations management within the service sector, particularly: Financial Services; Utilities; Managed Services; Telecoms or similar businesses. You are a natural relationship builder, enthusiastic, innovative and credible with senior stakeholders - at ease with complex situations, bringing clarity where there is none, whilst not losing sight of the big picture. You will also have confidence in your own capabilities: OEE prefer people who get on and do what’s right for the client straight away, rather than waiting for ‘permission’.
We will expect to see solid experience of leading consulting assignments and an approach that encompasses the people as well as the technical aspects of change. Above all we will want to see that you have also made the odd mistake and learnt from them.
Equally important are your broader business skills and experience and we will of course expect you to have excellent communication skills (both verbal and written – generally PowerPoint).
Your experience is supported by degree level academic qualifications or equivalent.
Our client base provides some opportunity to work in mainland Europe and in ‘off-shore’ locations (working in long haul destinations is entirely optional). Fluency in European languages and in Mandarin will be advantageous.
Be honest with yourself: we have a class leading assessment process and we will be assessing you on all of these areas.
